The Pack

Saturday is a day for taking care of things. Getting Eden ready for her Artist Residency. She'll be there from March 27th to April 23rd. Awesome.. Today we have to get the rest of her stuff together.. need to buy a scanner, mouse, printer and other devices to make sure that she has everything there to continue her persuit of world domination. Right now we're hanging at the North Star Coffee house. I'm doing some security updates to the wireless network here and she's meeting with a woman that runs a Yoga studio here in North Portland. She's going to start teaching there after she returns from her trip. The rest of the day is going to be full of errands and running around. But that's just alright. A little rain finally in the Portland area.. A good thing because it's been dry.. A bad thing because I've been doing alot of Mt. Biking lately and really am digging the excerise and early training for this summer. Not sure what else is going on right now.. It's been a while since I've posted so I thought I'd try and get something up.

And then again it's Friday

Well it's Friday again. Fast.. Blur.... Nothing really to talk about right now.. Works busy.. Lifes good.. I know one thing.. It's gearing up for bike season.. I rode twice this week and it felt great. The bike needs some love and a couple of upgrades this year.. Instead of me buying a bike this year we got a 15" PowerBook.. I guess you've got to sacrifice sometimes ;) But I think new handel bars, seat, and two new phat Continental tires will get me through one more year on the Trek.. I'm not happy about that drive train though that's for sure. Last year on tour I broke a chain.. I don't want to do that gain this year.
I'll have to ride more this weekend.. must.. get.. in.. shape..

What's in a sentence

"The conversion operators are followed by the equals operator (==) and the not equals operator (!=)." Programming C# 1. Grab the nearest book. 2. Open the book to page 123. 3. Find the fifth sentence. 4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions. 5. Don’t search around and look for the “coolest” book you can find. Do what’s actually next to you.

Surrounded by the sick, Dr. Aaron comes to the rescue

Chicken soup again tonight. Eden with a hurt neck and Danielle with a cold I'm just hanging out and taking care of people. It's been nice to take a week or so to stay home in the evenings and rest. I was feeling a little bit burnt out for a good week or so. I must say my batteries are feeling recharged and I'm gaining the gumption to preceed on with regularly scheduled programs. It's interesting to see the Personal Telco Project growing into an organization where people are taking initiative to dream to keep PTP moving. I'm really exicted about where this year is going to take us. Work going well.. Blah... di di Blah.. .. testing.. one .. two..

Tonight.

I'm making Chicken Soup.

Successful Day..

Today was very complete. I was able to finish up the network at Madrona Hill Cafe. The wireless backbone was completed I should get some pictures of this install as it's pretty slick. Madrona is fed by a wireless link to the owners house down the street.. Seems to be quiet a fast link though I haven't done any speed tests yet. I need to get Jimmy or someone to come by with me some time and set up a vpn tunnel to PTPnet. I also was able to get the Mentor things I had to finish this weekend done. And I've been listening to The Da Vinci Code all day on the iPod. It has made the day quiet enjoyable as I've been hacking on all these projects. I think I'll make it through the whole thing today at this rate. Tonight we're going to a Valentine's Day Party tonight for a while. Should be fun. We'll see.

And there you go..

Update.. There were cakes by the coffee bar.. go figure.. Linguini and Clam Sauce tonight?

Tuesday.. zoomerriffic!

Hi.. So it turns out there is a window of oportunity for getting some relief from buying a 15" PowerBook and then having them release a new version 8 days later. You qualify for either getting the difference refunded to you or paying a 10% restocking fee and buying the new one.. Which would basically use up your refunded values if you have a Educational Discount like we did.. But anyway... I'll fill you in on what happens. We're going Thursday to get it figured out. Other than that.. Upgrades to the Prod system here at work went flawlessly today. That's good. Just testing and what not for the rest of the week. Then moving some databases around again. Oh yeah.. hardware failure this weekend on the wireless network. The laptop that I had set up as a bridge for the 12dBi omni I have on the roof died. Now I'm trying to figure out a replacement. We'll see how that goes as well. blar. today would be a good day for random snacks to show up by the coffee bar.

A world of Busy..

Geeze.. A couple of crazy weeks. I've been busy, Work, PTP, life.. Seems the last two weeks are a blur. I crashed last night and finally got some sleep. I could use some more. Node674 went up so nicely last weekend. We're covering about a 4 block radius with that sucker. I should try and get some pics this weekend if I can. Node675 and Node676 are this weekend. Both are Linksys Wrt54g's running OpenWrt. I think I've finally started to get the hang of OpenWrt after a couple of sporatic days of use. And we had our PTP Monthly this week. PodCasted for the first time by the beloved Tom Higgins. You can get at them here http://www.personaltelco.net/~tom/podcast/rss.xml That's me doing the meeting stuff. Shit. That's it for now.

Just a sucka..

Dinners on the stove.. Node674 is almost built.. Need to get the antenna stuff squared away with Faddah.. Busy.. New Audio is fun.
